About Mariana

I have never been very interested in staying in one lane.

I am a data architect, founder, and artist. To me, those are different expressions of the same instinct: understand the structure, remove what does not belong, and build something that can last.

The person underneath the work

One life. More than one medium.

I was born in Moldova and eventually made Northern Virginia home. I am also a mother, a reader, and someone still building her life while building her companies.

I am interested in technology and art, but also in reinvention, ambition, motherhood, identity, and what it takes to create something meaningful without disappearing inside the process.

Those questions increasingly find their way into what I write, paint, build, and talk about publicly.

Origin

I learned to build where almost right was not good enough.

For nearly six years, I worked on federal data systems tied to immigration cases, benefits processing, congressional inquiries, and records that affected real people. That work taught me to care deeply about where information came from, what changed, who made a decision, and whether someone else could reconstruct it later.

Archetype Core

Eventually, that standard became a company.

I founded Archetype Core to bring that discipline into the data and AI systems organizations are building now. The company focuses on governed data infrastructure, cloud and Databricks modernization, and AI systems designed with evidence, lineage, and accountability built in from the beginning.

The Ferne

Technology has never been my only language.

I paint. I notice rooms, materials, proportion, texture, light, and the emotional weight objects can carry. The Ferne grew from that part of me: a creative house built around restraint, permanence, and private meaning.

Thinking in public

I would rather show the work than pretend the path was obvious.

Writing gives me room to make the argument. Video gives me room to show the process. Both let the unfinished thinking stay visible.
